Graduation, Mothers Day, and now summer! What to wear after all the uniforms are put away, it is hot out in good ol' Bluff City, and time for enjoying the great outdoors? Shorts!

This week I'm going to discuss how to get at least one pair of Shorts into your summer wardrobe! Shorts are a must when it is 100 degrees, and there is a style for everyone. I know what you are gonna say "I hate my legs." Yeah well so did I until I moved here from the coldest state in the US and decided enough was enough, time to give in and buy some shorts!

The different styles of shorts vary in length, price, and occasion. We'll start with denim. The most basic is a pair of plain shorts that usually start at 3" but are also in 5" and 7". Now there are also various styles, the classic Daisey Duke cut offs, roll ups, colored, and bermuda (about 9").

My favorite denim shorts this season are: The Sexy Boyfriend Shorts from Gap starting at $49.95. They are great, super comfortable, not too short, and are not narrow in the hip.  

Next are the twill shorts which are a dressier style and how you can get shorts into every summer occsasion including work, if your work allows it! The styles of these are: flat front, roll up, bermuda, linen, and a fun new style scalloped. 

Flat Front have a no pocket look which makes them look mor professional. Roll ups in the twill short are more evenly cuffed and is the short equivilant to a cuffed dress pant, think clean lines. Bermuda shorts aslo can have a cuff and are the sort of go to for women who do not like to show a lot of leg but want to enjoy the season. Pleated shorts hgive a little more room in the hip creating smooth lines for non-narrow body types. 

Now how to wear shorts at work even if you only love shorter shorts, try this:

Yes ladies those shorts are short, but how this look can go to work is because they is not wearing heels or a revealing top. The blazer makes the look come together The bright colors keeps it in season and the hardware (watch and necklace) are not big and gaudy. This outfit is also perfect to go from the office to a night out!

As you can see shorts are a must have! They can literally go everywhere. Dont be afraid, sell yourself short!!

Swimsuits that is! The season is finally here and everyone is psyched for summer but now has the daunting task of buying a swimsuit! With so many different styles and colors it can be hard to choose the right one for you! 

Here are a few tips to remember before I show you the hottest trends:

1. Don't buy without a try! Make sure you are comfortable in the suit.

2. Buy a suit that you are comfortable in not just because it's high fashion and everyone has it. Not everyone has the same body type so choose accordingly.

3. Finally, when out having fun in the sun just enjoy yourself and don't worry about what other people think. Honest truth, no one is paying attention to you if the sea is infront of them!

Now styles for summer 2013, starting with my favorite:

- The vintage pin-up style, which comes in both a one-piece and a high-waisted bikini. This one is great for hiding any unwanted stomach and it feels really sexy... think Marylin Monroe!

She wore more of a dress to the beach and looked amazing, and you can too. Curves look great in a vintage suit!

- The classic string bikini the best way to make a spin on this this season is by adding some color. Neon is one of the hottest summer trends with a great tan and bright colors you'll be sure to turn heads at the beach! 

- The one piece...on steroids! One-pieces are just as sexy as bikinis just make sure you have a fun style. Try some cut outs, a crazy print, or a plunging neckline so it doesnt feel so sporty. You can also try strapless which is always a good way to avoid those annoying tan lines.

- A tankini is also a great style. These are good for people trying to go for a two piece but are still a bit self concious.  

- Lastly, the Monokini! This is a new way to be completely daring but still hold it down in a one-piece. It is essentially a one piece but there are enough cut outs that it has a bikini feel. It is a fun one if you want tocatch someone's attention because it is one sexy suit!

So you have the styles... now it's up to you! One last tip: shop in bigger stores such as JCPenny's, Dillards, or Macy's first, then go to specialties like Victoria Secret. The department stores have more selection, then you can narrow it down.

So, I recently went to Fossil and remembered just how cool that store really is. I feel like it is a very underplayed store in Wolfchase and I want to change that.

Fossil has some great things inside for both the girls and guys, and I'm not just talking about watches. Their clothes are really nice and have a modern vintage feel that makes the company what it is! The quality of the fabric is supreme. A cotton tee makes you feel like you could sleep in it and their jeans are at the best quality. They also have great dress shirts for both men and women. And great dresses for every season. My favorite top from them right now is:

This tank is silky, comfy, and slimming because the the detail. You can dress it down with jeans and dress it up with a pencil skirt and pumps. 

Watches! Though I do not wear a watch everyday I appreciate great watch style and I can admit Fossil is one of my favorite watch brands. They keep it classic and modern with both leather and metal bands. They also have removable bands when you want to mix it up! My favorite style is this one:

Tortoise goes with everything and it is still very elegant. 

Bags...my favorite thing in the whole world!!! Fossil has made a name for itself in the bag world. They have distinguished to fun styles with clean lines. My favorite style out right now is:

I'm in love with totes that fold. They are perfect for those days when you are carrying a tall book and when you want to wear a clutch or cross-body bag. The fuchsia is a perfect pop of color for the summer witch the caramel accents.

First of all Congrats to the class of 2013! You have just completed a feat! Now it's time to celebrate, but with graduation and all the parties...what are you going to wear? Do not fret I know exactly how to help.

First off graduation. Let's make it through the event and the to the family dinner that follows without embarrassment and you'll be fine. You should do this in style because there will be a TON of pictures!!!

As you can see this is simple yet elegant and has a bit of edge because of the gold accents with the brocade, the studs, and the clutch. All these pieces can be worn again and go straight from day to night.

For the guys events like these are so easy. A pair of khakis and a button up are perfect.

Now for those night time parties with all your friends...you have to be way more casual. These parties are usually outside and even at night it can still be pretty warm in Bluff City. They also have various types of fluids that can get everywhere and all over your clothes, with that being said try to go for something funky and fun but cheap. 

Ladies the first place I would go is to Forever 21. The summer's hottest trends with be roll up or cut off shorts with a flirty loose sleeveless top. Pair these with some bright jewelry like a chunky bright necklace and some cute sandals, oxfords, or if you are celebrating at music fest the infamous rain boots!

Young men keeping it fun, casual, and light is what you have to accomplish.

These are all perfect options. A loose fitting henley from AE at $15.95, a pair of bright flat-front shorts from JCPenney at $17.99, and a pair of casual shoes from Journey at $49.99 are perfect for an outdoor party or festival. This will definitely attract the ladies!
