Spring is
in sight with Fascinators, Black & White and Lucite!
Hitting the shopping mall this spring looking for the hottest trends right off the runways of New York Fashion Week? Here’s your Frugal Fashionista’s guide to the must-haves for spring: Fascinators, Black & White and Lucite! This spring’s inspiration is unlike any season I’ve ever experienced, while you’ll still see a lot of colorful prints and pastel pants, this season is all about black and white! Iconic designers like Oscar de la Renta, Marc Jacobs and BCBG all debuted collections at Fashion Weeks around the world with models adorned in black and white outfits, some in vertical or horizontal stripes, others in classic color blocking, and a handful of interesting prints: animal, floral and geometric alike.
This is a sophisticated and fun trend that is simple to execute on any budget! Simply find the best combination of black and white pieces for you, whether using a classic piece from your wardrobe and adding a few new ones, or by creating a new look all around! (Peplum tops are my fave wardrobe add on this season!) For example, if you’re curvy like me, you’ll want to stay away from horizontal striped and large prints, instead opting for verticle stripes and smaller prints along with vertical colorblocking. If you have a straight-slim body-type, horizontal stripes and larger patterns will flatter your figure for sure! Please see the pictures. (would be included with outfits from your stores)
Now, to finish off this look and steal the show at any occasion, find a fascinator that suits you! A fascinator is a mix between a bejeweled headband and a small hat, normally affixing to one’s head via a comb and sitting at a slight angle with feathers or some other beautiful accoutrement. Here are three different types of fascinators great for informal outings to formal events. (Pictures from your stores)
In my exclusive interview with Michael Kors, I asked him what his must have accessory for Spring was (aren’t you dying to know!) His reply “"Anything with Lucite! A shoe with a clear trim, a handbag with something clear. I just think it's kind of fresh, light and bright." And on that note, here are my three favorite ways to wear Lucite this spring! (Items from your stores, accessory, shoe, outfit)
Happy hunting Fashionistas!
xoxo,

I love the fresh,
fun colors that are coming out! The soft shirts materials, and love a good fitting jean with cute shoes! The floral prints in sun dresses, and fun shoes and accessories to go with. Classic style is always good to have !
